A Quick Fix (Part Two)

My Dad laid back on the bed, his mind off in a euphoric wonderland. The doc stood up and shoved away the curtain, but before he left the room he stopped by the old man sitting next to the doorway. He asked him something - I couldn’t hear what, he said it softly - and the old man mumbled a reply. The doc nodded, then left, and I got a good look at the old man’s face. It was short, pale, tired, and angry.
